img_8408My boyfriend is so amazing, you guys. I convinced him on Friday to take me to Barnes and Noble–I don’t feel comfortable driving in Massachusettes–so that I could get the signed copy advertised in their Black Friday e-mails for Eragon, a book that meant more than you could imagine to me as a child. Dummy that I am, I didn’t realize that their Black Friday signed copy sales were for Saturday and not actual Black Friday.

And of course, I was pretty devastated but willing enough to let it go because, at the end of the day, it’s just a book–I cringe a little, just knowing I typed that–and I can live without it. I felt too bad about making him drive out on Friday night to ask that we go again today so I could get the book even though I desperately wanted it because Saturday was the last day he had to spend with his brother who he doesn’t get to see very often.

Then, wondrously, he comes back today after spending time with his brother with the signed book in hand. I could cry, I’m so happy. I already own a copy of Eragon, one that I’ve read so many times that it’s literally falling apart–I’ll post pictures once I’m able to because it truly is a treasure how my love for the book turned it into something precious that needs to be protected–but to have one that is actually signed by the man who inspired me so much as a child is nothing short of amazing.

I couldn’t be more grateful for my boyfriend at the moment. I hope he knows how much this means to me.
