the me I meant to beThe truth about The Me I Meant to Be by Sophie Jordan is that it really doesn’t seem to have anything new or interesting about it. It’s just a story about two girls who are best friends–supposedly, at least, the reviews I’ve read thus far lead me to believe that there is little indication of the two main characters as best friends since they barely spend time together, but I can’t know for sure–and their subsequent romantic relationships. One of these relationships involves falling in love with her best friend’s ex.

And I dunno, maybe the synopsis is just really bad and I’m not seeing the nuance to the story, but I just can’t seem to find this one interesting enough to add to my TBR.

I’m also not a fan of the cover–though I do really like that there seems to be a little diversity here, even if it doesn’t seem to be enough–and the reviews, from what I’ve seen thus far, aren’t that great. I’ve also sort of grown somewhat out of the contemporary world and it’s something I only go back to if there’s a new facet to it or the book is written by Sarah Dessen. I’m not sure why, I just have a thing.

What do you think of this book? Do you agree with me? Disagree? Will it be on your TBR? Let me know in the comments! And if you really think that this book is one I should reconsider adding, please let me know. I’m definitely up for changing my mind if it turns out that the book is better than I initially thought.

As always, happy reading to you all!
