our year of maybeI don’t remember requesting Our Year of Maybe by Rachel Lynn Solomon from NetGalley, but apparently I did because it’s in my list of books to give feedback for. A story following a young girl, her sick friend, the kidney she gave him, and the struggles of love from loving your best friend to realizing you’re sexuality, this book is definitely one for your radar if not your TBR. I’ve already started this book, so naturally it makes sense to say that it is on my TBR even if, technically, it’s more on my currently reading shelf. I’m hoping that I end up really enjoying this story, though so far I have to admit that I’m not attached or in love with it. The book up to this point hasn’t really grabbed me, though it’s been interesting enough to continue reading.

It seems that the subject matter is one that’s bound to be fun to read. Though I can be somewhat tricky to impress when it comes to contemporary novels, I feel like this one might manage it. That intuition of mine really isn’t based on anything the novel has shown thus far as I’ve found it vaguely dull and rather on the premise that was given in the synopsis. Also, it has a lot of good ratings/reviews so that’s got to mean something.

What do you think of this book? Is it on your TBR? Have you read it? What were your thoughts? Do you not care? Let me know in the comments!
