Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
Ironically, for me, this one isn’t set up to really be a top ten because I’m not the type who really has a huge attachment to bookish items. There aren’t a whole bunch that I’m exceedingly desperate to have. At the end of the day, I always find myself in a situation where items like that feel superfluous and typically just end up sitting in my apartment until I stop feeling bad about getting rid of it.
I hate keeping things I don’t use, after all, and yet I feel really uncomfortable with the idea of throwing or giving away certain items. This is ultimately why I still have a bunch of stuffed animals from my childhood that I one hundred percent don’t need. And why I have developed the philosophy that I shouldn’t buy useless things.
With that said, there are a few things that I do really want.
Fairly low on my list (only because I do not need another notebook) is this gorgeous notebook from etsy with a quote from the one and only love of my life (okay, I may be exaggerating) Carswell Thorne. I love this notebook so, so much. But I also know that it’d be kind of wasteful of me to get because a) I have too many notebooks and b) once I use it, I’d have to throw it out. So, ultimately, I just can’t bring myself to buy it.
Next up, one I’ve wanted for a long time is one of those book candles that supposedly smells like actual old books. I’ve never managed to get my hands on one of these, so I can’t really account for certain whether or not they actually do smell like old books…but damn, if they do, I need it.
And finally, wonderfully, there are the book pillows and blankets that just came out on the website, litographs. This is basically just a ginormous plot to steal all my money because frankly I don’t know how I’m supposed to be able to resist such a tempting product. They print out a portion of a book on the fabric and some of them even have designs blended in with the words. I’m definitely saving money up for these ones, you guys, because they’re just utterly gorgeous.
