Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
It’s a freebie this time around for TTT, which I honestly 100% intended to think up something amazingly unique and bookish for everyone to read but didn’t get around to. In layman’s terms, I completely forgot because, well, life. I’m actually pretty backlogged in terms of having everything ready and set up for posting, which is its own kind of stress on top of all the others. I meant to catch up this weekend, but that didn’t happen so I guess I’m just going to be rolling with it for now. Anyway, I decided to list my favorite fairytales today and I’m probably gonna be somewhat quick about it, so this might be a shorter post than usual.
10. The Light Princess
A cute, light story about a Princess who floats. Her father does all he can to bring her back to earth and invites those from all across the land to assist with this endeavor.
9. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice
If you don’t know this one, I’m sad for you. It’s such a fun little story. Granted, my experience with it began with Disney and more or less stayed with Disney, but I still love it.
You’d think this one would be higher given my adoration for Cinderella retellings, but nah.
7. Rikki Tikki Tavi
My love for mongeese comes from this beautiful story. And it’s told by the same guy who wrote The Jungle Book!
6. Beauty and the Beast
Honestly, this one is only this high on the list because books.
I adore Thumbelina so much. It’s not the most amazing story, I’ll give you that, but I just have feels for it.
4. The Little Mermaid
I can’t not love this one. It’s so dear to my heart.
3. The Reluctant Dragon
This is one of the cutest and most fun dragon stories I’ve ever come across.
I had a huge thing for locked away princesses that got saved when I was a kid. I’m definitely against it now, but I never quite lost my love for the ones I read when I was young. And, to be fair, the guy in this one doesn’t actually save her in the very end, he just comes close but then she saves him.
1. The Nutcracker and the Mouse King
I love, love, love this story so damn much.
And that’s all for this week! Happy reading, everyone!
