Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
I honestly felt somewhat daunted by this topic, mainly because I didn’t want to go out of my way to search for covers and different editions of books. This is prime Steff laziness, I’ll tell you. And as it stands I definitely didn’t spend a lot of time to make sure that these were all my favorites, but rather ranked the ones that first came to mind as I was setting this up. Plus, my favorite book series in the world never updated the covers (Marissa Meyer, I kind of love you for that cause I cry hardcore whenever it messes up how my books look when I have a set). Anyway, here are the ones I thought of:
10. The Mortal Instruments
As much as I hate Cassandra Clare, I can at least admit that whoever did her cover art is brilliantly talented.
9. The Winner’s Curse
8. All Our Yesterdays
That first one there is just bleh.
7. Paper Towns
I’m sorry, but who the heck thought putting a blue spot in the O was a good idea?
I honestly feel kind of ripped off by the fact that none of the first editions have the pretty cover.
5. Raven’s Gate
4. Shadow of the Wind
The unfairness that exists in the fact that I will never have a set of first editions that all match because the first book came out with that admittedly cool looking but dumb when put next to the second and third book clockwork piece. I could sob.
Honestly, a part of me wants to assassinate the American covers…
It’s really no surprise that Tigerlilja stole the number one spot, is it?
And those are some of the book covers I preferred to the originals (at least, I think I preferred the new ones; feel free to correct me if I hated on a redone cover and preferred the original). I don’t reckon it really matters all that much which one came first. Happy reading!
