I cannot for the life of me remember how long it’s been since I wrote one of these; the tag from Ashley @ Ashley in Wonderland having been one that I got ages ago. And the truth is that these sort of posts, while fun, just kind of lost touch with me over time since I was getting tagged a lot. And while I totally love answering the questions, I’ve gotten to a point where I just don’t care for the process anymore? But I was having a moment today where I stumbled across the post again and decided that, since the questions were awesome and fun that I’d answer them.
Now, as for tagging, I’m going to leave it open. If you wanna answer the questions go for it. If not, no biggie. Also, I have to admit that this is the coolest Sunshine Blogger Award image I’ve ever seen, so that’s a giant plus.

Who is your favourite animal (or non-human) character from a book?
Can you believe that this is an incredibly difficult question for me? Honestly, my initial thought was to just jump to Saphira from Eragon, but that wasn’t true. Shortly after, I thought maybe the fox from The Little Prince. But as much as I love foxes, I knew that wasn’t it either. And then I considered Bovril from Leviathan…but really, he wasn’t the one either. And finally I landed on Mr. Kindly from Nevernight and I have to admit that this fascinating cat (also have you all SEEN the gorgeous cover for Darkdawn?!) is pretty high up there on my list. And he may very well be number one.
Have you ever preferred the movie to the book?
Of course! I think it’s kind of silly to say that the book is always better. Sometimes having more people work on something results in a more wondrous and amazing story and exceptionally portrayed characters. So, to date, there have been a few. The Count of Monte Christo was always the first I would list, but over time I’ve come to include Game of Thrones and all its sequels, Thumbelina, If Only It Were True whose movie is actually called Just Like Heaven, The Phantom of the Opera, and even The Help merely because that Great Awful with Miss Hilly was a lot funnier to watch than it was to read though both formats are pretty amazing.
What book does everyone love but you refuse to read? Why?
Ugh, the new Shatter Me sequels (books 4 and 5). I can’t stand Warner and it both depresses and infuriates me that this asshole is so popular. He’s an abusive and disgusting piece of work and it baffles me to no end that people think he is worthwhile as a romantic interest. He’s nothing but despicable and disgusting. He doesn’t deserve love, doesn’t deserve pity, and I hate that people like him. Also, Kenji isn’t that great either, existing as one of those stupid “talk to me about your feelings” characters with literally no other purpose, which is hilarious since he only wanted to hear feelings when Juliet started to like Warner—disgusting!—but completely berated her like a jackass when it came to her relationship with Adam because she was being selfish. I mean, hello? This girl had never had a healthy or good relationship with anyone because she couldn’t touch them without hurting them and you’re going to trivialize all the trauma she went through? What an awful friend. And then he pushes her toward being with her abuser? Just no. None of that was okay. And then Juliet is a crappy person, too…so…what’s to like about these books again?
What hobbies do you enjoy other than reading and blogging?
Writing? Lol. And teaching…but that’s kind of my career so I don’t know if I can call it a hobby.
What book has the best food?
I have…no idea. I’m not really a foodie so I’ve never paid much attention. Any Indian food cookbook, I guess?
Ever read a book that kept you up at night (for better or for worse)?
Loads of times. Too many books to count.
What book do you always recommend to people?
All of The Lunar Chronicles! Read them, they’re wonderful!
What book has been on your ‘to read’ list for way too long?
Archenemies, the sequel to Marissa Meyer’s Renegades. It’s kind of shameful, considering she’s my favorite author. But also…Renegades was disappointing and I don’t really want to go through that again. I’d rather love all of her books.
Do you watch tv or listen to music while you’re blogging?
Sometimes? Not incredibly often, though. And more because I forget than because I can’t focus, to be honest.
Do you have any blogging pet peeves?
Tags. They take forever and they’re a pain in the butt. Fortunately, I’ve found ways to skirt around having to put tags on my posts whenever I write one. It’s saved me so much time.
