So it’s occurred to me recently, partially through the various commentaries others have given on their own blogs about how to blog and how to give good content and partially on account of my own annoyance at the lack of organization I’ve permitted since I started (I can’t seem to stick to any one format) that I should probably set up some sort of system for what’s going on here.
That and I’ve realized there’s no way I can possibly keep up enough that I have a review posted every single day like I’d want. In light of this, I’ve decided to theme up my days from this point forward and I guess we’ll see how it goes. 😬
So from now on, to be expected:
Monday is my Movie Moments day. I’m not gonna structure this one all that much since my blog definitely isn’t all about movies but since a lot of books are made into movies, I imagine it’ll be fun to have a commentary going about whatever it is that I’ve watched recently or plan to watch in the future (*coughGameofThronescough*). Now, naturally I’m sure we’re all aware that Game of Thrones isn’t a movie–thus leading further into my unstructured Movie Moments Monday because I’m probably gonna talk about shows, too.
Tuesday is gonna be my Currently Reading Update (at least this week) but in the future is potentially going to be my Read-a-Long Tuesday if there’s anyone interested in doing readalongs with me. It’s looking like the February Read-a-Long is going to be A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Mass thanks to jilljemmett who commented. ❤️ And basically my hope for this is just that whoever wants to participate reads the book along with me (and we’ve got the whole month to do it!) and I’ll update my progress as we go and so can you! I’m additionally planning on figuring out a weekly read goal for each book and if I can figure out how to get a discussion up on my blog, that’d be awesome, too. As a sort of added bonus, if anyone writes a review for the Monthly Read-a-Long, I’ll link back to it from here as well as from Twitter.
Wednesday is one I’m actually super excited for since I’ve already sort of started it with a scheduled post. I’m calling it We Need to Talk About… Wednesday and it’s more or less my I’m gonna chat about whatever is on my mind at the moment (hopefully always bookish subjects). I think it’ll be a fun middle of the week post most times, so we’ll see how it goes.
Thursday is all about covers! And by covers I don’t mean when someone sings a song originally by another artist. I mean all those amazingly dazzling jewels that the wonderful publishers have decided to entice us with. Now, I know this is one of those topics that not everyone will agree on (granted, I suppose you could say that about almost everything) but I really enjoyed sharing covers during the 24in48 challenge and I’ve got a whole bookshelf on Goodreads dedicated to the wonderful ones so I just wanna keep on sharing them. Once a week. 😋
Friday is Review Day. If I’m reading a book a week I don’t imagine I’ll have any problems with this, but who knows? Sometimes I get behind. I know specifically when I first started this blog I got really behind and after a few months didn’t post at all until December, which isn’t really something I want to do again. Still, I’ll try to think of something to fill up Friday if I ever don’t have a review ready. Additionally, I’m changing my end review format, so from this point forward instead of me using single words and phrases to sum up the review, I’m just going to leave my star rating via 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.
Saturday is kind of in limbo since I’ve got a tentative idea but I dunno how well it’s going to work out. I’m calling it Weekly Wrap-Up and the idea is more or less that I briefly go over what I’ve been up to for the week (reading-wise) and go from there? I dunno. I might re-vamp this day into something else, but we’ll see.
Sunday is another one I’m really excited for and I’m calling it Author Sunday where I rave about my favorite authors or rant about the ones I can’t stand. At least until I run out of authors to talk about (but hopefully that wont happen).
I think, ultimately, I’m just interested in being more active and having a set list of ideas for what to post about will help me write and also help anyone else figure out whether they’re interested in sticking around and reading since I know that reviews are great fun to read, but it’s always very dependent on the moment. I read reviews to determine whether or not I want to read a book, but not when I already want to read the book to avoid spoilers (though I promise I try as hard as I can not to include any in mine). And I also read them when I’ve finished a book.
Plus I figure this’ll be a fun challenge for me.
Happy reading, everyone! ❤️
