So, I’m tentatively throwing this out there that I’m looking to host what could possibly equate to a year-long readathon. This probably sounds insane with just that bit there, but basically, my thought is for there to be a different theme of prompts for each month and all the points for any of the readathons would be something you have all year to count up.
Ways to earn points are still in the works, but it’s going to include that review sample bit I mentioned a couple of months ago (where you read a preview of a book and write a post about whether or not you would like to read it in the future), reading lots of books, writing reviews, etc.
I’ve just begun working on a google sheets document that will calculate all of this, but I’m also beginning to realize that this is going to be a lot of work, especially if I want it to roll out January first of next year.
That said, I always planned on having a few co-hosts to help me out with the whole thing but the amount of work I didn’t realize this would be has prompted me to ask a little earlier than I’d originally planned. I have a few ideas for some themes but haven’t assigned them to any specific month, so there are a lot of opportunities to discuss ideas.
I’m basically looking for 2-3 people to assist with each month (if possible). A really cool thing about this year-long readathon is that I’m actually going to have prizes for the end of it (ideas for this vary from older ARCs that I have in my collection to regular books to bookish items and even to a book box or book box subscription depending on my financial ability–I’m trying to save for it).
So, if you’re interested in being a part of this please feel free to reach out to me via email@example.com. I’ll provide you with a little bit more information on the whole thing and hopefully some of us can get together to really make this amazing.
Also, if you have knowledge of google sheets and all that coding stuff, that would be super helpful as I’m really just teaching myself at the moment.
