I think, unquestionably, my favorite reading challenge is still the yearly Goodreads one. There’s something immensely satisfying about reaching one’s goal, and while I’ve admittedly failed on a few occasions to reach my ultimate goal, the two times I actually achieved it since 2012 have been amazing. And there’s something to really appreciate about a challenge that is as simple as counting the number of books I’ve read. I always knew that I read a lot, but these challenges have really put it into perspective for me.

It’s 2018 and I’ve put myself down for a challenge of 125 books.

That alone is exciting for me, since I’ve only read past that number once in all my time on Goodreads. I can’t really say much for the time before I was part of it, but I imagine there were probably years I achieved that number in the past. I’m happy to say that this is the best start I’ve ever had for a Goodreads challenge thus far.

I’m currently up to 31 books, which is 17 books ahead of my actual schedule. It almost makes me want to increase my challenge number, if I’m being honest. Here’s hoping that I will surpass it by a long shot.

How are your Goodreads reading challenges going? Are you ahead? Behind? Right on track? Let me know in the comments!

IMG_0579I’m currently reading a bunch of books, though the three I’ve updated most recently are The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton which I just recently got my hands on (!!), Simon vs. the Homo Sapien’s Agenda by Becky Albertalli (in preparation of the movie coming out next month!), and A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas which will be getting its own post later tonight once I’ve had time to sit down and write it (being an adult who works can suck sometimes).

Happy reading, everyone!

  1. I am 7 books behind so far but I’ll catch up! Just having a bit of a rough time finding my groove this year. It’s only February though! And yay! I can’t wait to read the ACOTAR post you’ll write. I love that series 😄💕

    1. I wish you luck in pulling ahead! I’ve been behind before, a lot. I was last year and ended up binge reading in december to make the goal, which was actually quite fun.
