So, I am revamping my monthly wrap ups! The unfortunate thing about this post series that I noticed last year is that they just became such a pain to write. I had a tendency to write a little blurb for each book, to go out of my way to talk about all the intricacies of the month that involved reading and I just couldn’t keep up. So, a lot of months got missed last year. I don’t want that to happen this year.
And thus begins a wrap up that only includes the covers of the books I’ve read for the month and the links to any reviews I’ve written throughout as well. Hopefully that will be easier for me to keep up with. Let me tell you, I’ll be quite upset with myself if I miss a month this year, especially with how well 2019 has been going so far. I really feel (and hope) that this year is spades better than last.
And all the titles are going to be adapted from book quotes instead of my previous idea of using story starters at the beginning (e.g. Once Upon a January, In a February Far Away, etc.). And bonus points to anyone who can figure out what book the quote is adapted from! I feel like this first one is fairly easy. I’m throwing around the idea of giving all my readers the opportunity to win something if they guess it correctly (so entering a giveaway), but I haven’t really settled on anything. Maybe an e-book? Let me know if you guys have any ideas!
I can’t for the life of me recall what my stats were last January, but I think it’s pretty amazing that I’ve managed to read more than a book a day for this month. Granted, a fair few of those books–18–were manga (which can be faster to read) since I got it in my head that I wanted to read the entirety of the Sailor Moon books for the first time (hello nostalgia!). But, all in all, it’s been a great month for reading and I’m really proud of myself. And, without further ado, here are all the reviews I wrote and books I read in January 2019!
