enchanteeI’m not gonna lie, I live for books that mix historical fiction with fantasy. I have loved so many of them and Enchantée by Gita Trelease looks like it will be one of the amazing ones that I’ll be exceedingly proud to have on my shelf. Not only is that cover absolutely gorgeous, but the plot of the story sounds fantastic. A tale of magic and deception, of building one’s own reality and struggling with the choice of which to live in, Enchantée is bound to be fantastic. And it doesn’t hurt that I have been hearing about this book nonstop for the past couple of months, waiting for the time when I would get my hands on a copy.

Now, admittedly, I was never desperate to have one and therefore never looked for the opportunity to trade an ARC, however there’s a lot to be excited for with this novel. I’m really curious to see how the main character handles providing for her sister while she’s off gallivanting and masquerading through the lavish court of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. And, speaking of which, how much will they play into the story? Especially with Marie Antoinette’s fate?

There are a lot of questions and I can’t wait for the answers.

What are your thoughts on this novel? Is it on your TBR? Were you one of the lucky ones to get an ARC? If so, what did you think of it? Are you going to pass up the opportunity to read this one? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Macmillan Audio sent me the audiobook and I literally just finished it this afternoon. I loved the mix of historical fiction and magic, with a dash of romance.
