This sounds like some reverse gender, Hannah Montana but maybe not as secret kind of nonsense. Is anyone else getting that vibe? And I’m 100% unsure how much that idea in a novel really grabs my attention. Like, I’m thoroughly curious for sure. But I feel like I’ve already figured out the entire plot and the only question left is whether or not this is the sort of fluff I want to waste my time with. And really, that bit is all dependent on how well written the entire book is which isn’t really something that I can determine without giving the book a shot. And thus I am exceptionally torn about this one because I don’t want to add it and find out that the writing isn’t that great but I would feel quite disappointed in myself if I missed out on a really amazing book simply because I wasn’t sure about it.
I’m sure you can see my dilemma.
And so, I’ve decided to tentatively add Famous in a Small Town by Emma Mills (I’m sure there’s an Emma Swan/Regina Mills joke to be had there) to my TBR in the hopes that it is a really good book. And I can say I’m going to be really, really annoyed if it becomes a book I end up wanting to DNF because I hate DNFing books.
If you have read this book, please drop a line in the comments to let me know if I’m right about the less secretive Hannah Montana bit, because I feel right on the money there and would love to know.
What do you think of this book? Is it something you’re interested in reading or adding to your TBR? Does it sound too fluffy? Let me know in the comments!
