I really don’t think that Never-Contented Things by Sarah Porter is for me. I’m not a big fairy person in general and tend to need a pretty amazing story in order to want to read about them, but I definitely don’t like horror, which is what Never-Contented Things really seems to be. Reviews purport it as such and the synopsis is definitely incredibly creepy. It’s basically a novel of entrapment, one in which two teens find themselves at the mercy of the incredibly cruel fairies who have captured and imprisoned them. And honestly, I just don’t think I could stomach a book based on horror, even if it does seem that the captured will escape in the end. Ultimately, I’m not interested.
Seductive. Cruel. Bored.
Be wary of…
Prince and his fairy courtiers are staggeringly beautiful, unrelentingly cruel, and exhausted by the tedium of the centuries ― until they meet foster-siblings Josh and Ksenia. Drawn in by their vivid emotions, undying love for each other, and passion for life, Prince will stop at nothing to possess them.
First seduced and then entrapped by the fairies, Josh and Ksenia learn that the fairies’ otherworldly gifts come at a terrible price ― and they must risk everything in order to reclaim their freedom.
