I usually really love space-related stories and am often pretty quick to add them to my TBR. But for some reason, I just can’t seem to find myself interested in Undying by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. I also have been pretty hit or miss with Spooner in the past–it’s a real damn shame she had to completely destroy the one book of hers that I was in love with right at the end–and I just don’t know how well this one is going to go over with me.
But the ultimate thing is that the synopsis for this one just sounds quite boring. I don’t know what it is. Maybe they’re banking on the fact that it’s a sequel to sell this book, but I mean really…give me something more interesting to work with here? Also, the book isn’t really even set all that much in space, which I imagine may have influenced my decision to not add this book to my TBR.
Even so, at some point in the past–I don’t recall exactly–I appear to have added the first book in this series. So, with some luck maybe that book will be brilliant and lead me to this one quick enough that the disaster of a synopsis won’t end up losing, at least, me as a reader. But then again, I don’t know. It still doesn’t sound all that great. But I don’t take books off my TBR. I’d rather DNF them than do that.
And now I leave it to you. Does this seem like a book you might be interested in? Is it on your TBR? Have you read the first book? How was it? Let me know in the comments!
